"Smallbore 200 Open Invitational Match 2010"

Date: Cards need to be in no later than 25th September 2010 (P O Box 327, Rangiora 7400, New Zealand)

DOWNLOAD THE PDF for YOUR CLUB NOTICE BOARD

This will be New Zealand Target Shooting Talk 2nd Postal Shoot (See Last Years Results) this year I will get some kinda cup for 1st place so we can pass around for years to come! (open to ideas) please also note this match has no connection to Target Shooting New Zealand.

Entry Fee: $10 each

Prizes all fees will go into prize money pool less admin fees (stickers, postal stamps and 1st place trophy if we have sufficient entries) There should be little cost as we should have enough stickers)

1st 50%
2nd 30%
3nd 20%

Competition: Two Single Cards

Rules:

1) Normal Rules apply
2) New Zealand Target Shooting Talk (Danny de Hek) will mark all cards.
3) Must be shot at any range or with range officer.
4) All ties decided by Count Back System
5) Match committee's (Mods) decision final in all matters
6) Must be a registered member of New Zealand Target Shooting Talk www.targetshooting.co.nz (free)

Handicaps:

Handicap System for 2 card competition.

Last four official card scores

Add scores together excluding dot count
Divide by 4
If the result is not a whole number then make up to next whole number.
Add to each of the 2 competition card.
Add the results (i.e. score plus handicap) from both cards to get the competition score.

Count-back for tie break.

For count back purposes the stickers sent out should have the number 1 & number 2 on them and should be shot in that order as that is how the count back will be done but in reverse order i.e. highest last card in order of score then dots then tens, if needed count back goes back to first card. If scores cannot be separated then placed equal and share the prize.
e.g.

If 197.15 with shooter1 = 100.8 & 97.7 & shooter 2 = 100.7 & 97.8 then shooter 2 wins.

However if shooter 1 = 100.8 & 97.7 shooter 2 = 100.8 & 97.7 but shooter 2 has an 8 on the second card then shooter 1 wins

To be fair, because it is a handicap shoot, you would have to include the handicap in each cards total score.

How to enter: Post your Name, Username, Region and $10 dollars (Cheques payable to Danny de Hek) to New Zealand Target Shooting Talk, P O Box 327, Rangiora 7400, New Zealand we will post two stickers to your return address.

Deposit $10 into this account "03 0674 0416336 000" username as a reference!

Danny, set up Internet banking for goodness sake!!

Sticking $10 in an envelope, addressing it, buying stamps, licking one and putting it on, dropping it into a mailbox, hoping you got the address right, hoping Postal workers don't pocket the lot . . .

Compared with:

Open website, login, transfer. Done!!

This is 2010.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO STICK THE STICKER ON THE BACK OF THE CARD OVER A TARGET BEFORE YOU SHOOT IT. IT MUST HAVE A SHOT THROUGH IT TO PROVE ITS YOURS! smile

It appears that Danny has failed to click an option and we can't reply to his letter from TSNZ posting.

Here is my suggestion:

Hi Folks,

I am carrying out a survey to see what differences there are between shooters and their ammunition / rifle combinations.

Please could you shoot at least two cards that demonstrate your best combination at club night next week and send them to me. You may "mark" then if you wish but I am perfectly prepared to compare and "mark" them myself.

I will then compare them against others who send in their practice cards and those showing the best rifle ammunition combination will be reimbursed at the following rate: (here nominate reimbursement)

I will send you a self addressed envelope and a bill for $20 for the envelope and stamp.

Regards

(Here put organisers name)

I Love it. Lets do it.
Thats a survey I'd be really interested in, the results could be very interesting. I think my Anschultz 1807 in 1813 stock with Batched Black eley would preform as good as most[/size]whistle

Haha! Beautiful!

But due to ammo batch changes and shooter performance improvements, these results won't mean much unless we undertake this survey at least annually.
That way the results can be graphed and changes noted.
Obviously these results would need to be made public so they can be discussed among those who took part in the trial.

Oops.

I over stated the "cost". Apparently Danny's envelope and stamp only cost $10. Silly me.

Still waiting for shooters to return there cards and if we publish the results they may not return them and we will never know how they did!

Using the count back system who has won? I still can't understand how that works ;-) see attached file.

NOTE: Please mark these cards on the back and send to PO Box 327, Rangiora 7440 no later then the 25th September 2010.

Shooters please do return your cards soon ;-) I am of to Tasmania on the 24th!

"Count-back".

Using the Spreadsheet above:

Look for top score in column H. (we have 3 so far)

If tied:

Look for top score in 2nd card shot + H/cap (column E)

The same 3 still have 100 but one has more inners (row 7):

And before row 7 gets too excited, row 7 must remember that not all cards are in. wink

. . . and you said you weren't going to publish them until they were all in Danny? Duh! wink
