Well I shoot with a Feinwerkbau 2700 it was my 1st rifle that I have owned.

I start me 1st few nights at the West Eryeton Rifle Club using a BSA club rifle one of the member noticed that I were very keen and let me use his spare 1973 Anschutz.

About Feinwerkbau

Feinwerkbau 2700 (FWB 2700) manufactured by the Feinwerkbau - Westinger & Altenburger GmbH company, of Germany.

The FWB 2700 has been designed as a match rifle for Prone, 3-Position and Benchrest shooting competitions.

I spent quite a lot of time trying to decide which to buy. I ended up with the FWB2700 - but mainly cause it fitted in my left hand much nicer (the stock is thinner than Anschutz).

There are a couple of options with the FWB, 22mm or 24mm barrel. If your going 3P, then get the lighter barrel.

Ive fitted mine with Anschutz 20click sights, rear iris, variable foresight, and AHG Intergral hand stop.

The 10 click sights made it hard to get a really good shots at 50M, and the handstop was to wide for my hands. After a 60 shot match, I was in pain.

Much nicer now, with all the add ons.

I love these rifles! Unfortunately mine is only on loan so I will have to give it back at some point in the next couple of years, but it certainly shoots brilliantly!

The funny thing with mine is that it doesn't have an O-ring for barrel tuning, which is one of their defining features; when I tell people it doesn't have one they think that I'm silly and that the rifle won't shoot straight, but it certainly does! I love the looks on people's faces when i tell them =)

Oh, and they shoot really well at petone when you drop them =p just ask me or Susan!

Well I have never touched my one nor have I ever put my FWB in a bench tester.

I personally think once you get up to 100.7+ and are looking for 1mm difference you need to start doing all that full on stuff weighing ya bullets etc..

Feinwerkbau now make a light version, the 2700 Light (Leicht) which is 0.7 kg lighter than the 22mm barrel version. The barrel is 50 mm shorter, and fluted, it also has a lighter bloop tube, and a shorter palm rest. It is intended for smaller 3P shooters. The picture posted on this thread is actually a 2700 light, you can see the barrel fluting. Have yet to see one in NZ

Mine is a "Transition Model" 1413, or 1613, depending on the part of the globe you hail from. New in 1970 something, and since around the early 1990's has been sporting a "Farrell" Alloy stock. Has had around 50 - 55,000 rounds through it and still groups better than I am capable of getting from it on a consistant basis. Harvey had a play with it around 8 years or so ago and all he had to do was change my torque settings a bit. Would love to dress it with one of the new Annie Stocks but have better things to do with that many thousand dollars.

I know someone in England who had one of the fluted lightweight 2700s. Whilst it looked great, it shot crap (unlike virtually all of the 2602 / 2700 rifles I am aware of), and it was returned to the factory.

Well my daughters 2700 Light has just arrived, the fluting doesn't seem to have affected the usual FWB accuracy at all, the groups in the test rig, and off the shoulder are good. The upside for her (being small & lightly built) is that the point of balance has shifted back about 40mm in the standing position, so it is no longer muzzle heavy for her. In her first 3P match using it she shot 191 standing, not a bad first match.
